Re: "What is your opinion about the current status of Coppermine and about Intel's ability to reach 1 GHz and 2 speed grades (1,066 and 1133) after that, based on the overclocking reports from the web sites?"

I've been off line a couple of days as my modem died. It's
incredible how uninformed and helpless you feel without internet access. Dell had a new board to me with in two days. Their service is good. I suspect they will be able to do volume at 1GHz in the third quarter as they claim. That means there must be some 1067MHz parts as well given the degree of process control one would expect. So they could launch a 1067MHZ part regardless of the volume in late third quarter if Willamette will really launch in Oct since it would only be a stop gap until Willamette. I wouldn't bet on 1133MHz but who knows? I haven't seen any overclocking results on 1GHz parts. There are still some tricks Intel could pull. However, any trick at this point could push them over the edge and cause them to ship some more garbage. It would not be worth the risk in my opinion if Willamette will ship in Oct.
