ted, AMD's smart political move.

That's what I immediately thought too (really); they know about the infrastructure issue in the low and middle segment (mobo, chipset) and are acting accordingly.
I can't imagine the Taiwanese did already forget about Intel's smart moves concerning chipset and mobos in the past.

I'm looking forward to AMD's Dresden PR moves. I hope they are going to exploit the media potential behind the fact of producing the most advanced MPU there and to act according to a globalized market.
BTW, I don't understand the concerns sometimes expressed on this thread about slowdown or acceleration of US economics and US interest rate and such stuff concerning AMD. This impact definitely tends to get smaller. I believe it's nice to have a kind of international diversification in your portfolio albeit picking only a few but hopefully lucrative stocks.

Have a nice weekend, Boris

P.S. I currently hope to get an invitation to a Washington Wine Event in autumn as an 'European wine expert' despite being simply a drunkard with educated taste. (I love the Merlots from Walla Walla and from (no joke!) Willamette Valley). To combine this visit with a SI lunch would be really exciting: kind of "Close Encounter of the Second Kind" <g>

P.S.2. Thanks for your tips about tech stocks. I added some to my watch list. There are some nice possibilities here around too. I had a nice low risk ten-bagger. Combining currency issues can incidentally add some grains to your profit. I mean, I have a nice 30% bonus on my AMD investment right now.
