May 9, 2000 Wal-Mart Chairman David Glass shrugged off recent warnings from analysts that retail earnings would likely be pressured by an expected slowdown in consumer spending. "Several of the analysts that I read recently have expressed concern about a slowdown in consumer spending," Glass told analysts in a conference call. "We currently do not see signs that support that theory." Amazing how the ANAL-ysts attack retail sales right before the Big Boyz (WMT & HD) release their earnings, while the companies are in a quiet period and cannot respond. It makes me want to vomit. TB
