swisstrader - yeah, I currently have an apartment in BPC which I prefer to other areas of Manhattan due to proximity to Wall St. and newer blgs. and more residential and definitely much safer plus I prefer the Statue & water view over the park. BPC is fast expanding also with more amenities/buildings/etc. - they're even opening up some multiplex cinema soon. As for being desolate (which I agree), that's what they made taxis/cars for!
