Hey, EyeDoc

Thanks for the welcome. That's the way it is in the South- everybody so friendly. I haven't known anything different, so feel right at home here on the Porch.

Had problems with infections in Pete's eye 'till it was removed. He had quite a tough time growing up 'cause all his energy was used fighting infections. I thought his growth would be stunted. He looked like a yearling (and sickly) when he was two. After the eye surgery, he made up for lost time and grew up to be 16/2 hands tall! The eyeball was removed, and the eyelid stitched shut. It looks kinda scary 'till you get used to it. With no eyeball it's sunken in. I remember riding with a group one time and someone I didn't know was riding next to me. After about half an hour I saw that the man noticed the bad profile- it liked to scare the hell out of him! HA HA! Sure glad to hear you don't give shots.
