I agree, Ron. I know that what you say is standard for DOD security protocols.

Many moons ago, I had reason to deal with some of the DOE people about some things, and in the process of getting "cleared in," they talked about all sorts of security stuff that I'd never heard of, and we finally had to go to a DOD liason feller to "cross match" my clearance with the DOE clearances.

Maybe things have been standardized since, but I doubt it. I know that what you say is absolutely correct for how things used to be in DOD, but I simply don't have a clue for other agencies. Since bureaucrats love to enhance their own power positions with gobbledygook, I'm in no position to comment on how the LANL security system (pardon the oxymoron <g>) works.
