Frankly it dosn't matter if the core was split or not.The property is in Canada not Indonisia and another hole can be twinned very easily.By doing whole core assays you get a more accurate assay.
The only time I would possibly start comparing this to Bre-X is if the core was crushed on site.It is my understanding it was not.It is pretty tough to salt un crushed drill core.
If the Lab was not reputable that could also be another concern.
