I am trying to figure out why the Marketgauge service shows specialists going neutral. I think it may be that they calculate their figures on Friday whereas the NYSE figures (at least in Barron's) become available earlier. So now I am predicting a more bearish Marketgauge specialist increase percentage in short sales, and that is very bearish. But--caveat emptor or whatever the Latin is for seller--these things are always inexact and intrinsically self-defeating. If they were correct, everyone would act on them and make them incorrect.
