OT Hey, Bill. First, I'm sure you are a much better sailor than I am. I may be a better racer, but I would not want to match skill and experience with anyone who's been sailing all their life. Anyway, we are all learning, sailing is a life-long sport/recreation/pursuit. I've seen Celebrities, but have not sailed one, and I usually don't sail boats with mahogany or anything else on it that carries weight. You know how racers are, the only extra weight we are allowed to carry is beer. I do love those boats with the wooden trim, though. Some day we will have one of those, and settle down to do some real sailing instead of this racing.
Just got back from putting four layers of Interlux 2000 barrier coat on my boat in Annapolis, tomorrow go back for two more coats and some baltoplate. Hope to have her in the water next weekend, in time for the Memorial Day race to St. Michaels. In the meantime, I keep my other boat on the Potomac for Tuesday night races.
When you plan to go to Annapolis, drop us a line. If I am not traveling for business, or racing, we would love to have a beer with you at the Maryland Inn, or Pusser's, or anywhere else. BTW, you can throw darts, but it's hard to puke anywhere in Annapolis these days, unless it is over the side. We keep our boat at Port Annapolis, we could also go for a sail.
P.S. Quite a lightning show tonight. Glad we weren't out in the water. |
