They got their computer back (although who knows if the hard drive was copied)

Is that what they call "British a-plumbed?" [that's a joke, folks.]

Way back in the dark ages (circa 1980), my first BI took three months. The subsequent "updates" were faster, but were not complete investigations, just reviews for other needed stuff. I think it depended a heck of a lot on who was asking for the investigation and the "luck of the draw" having to do with backlogs and travel schedules of some investigators. For me, the worst part of any clearance was just playing with the pencil and filling out the stupid form. Maybe that's why they went through so fast -- I didn't care. [That's another joke -- only those who work in a bureaucracy could see the humor <g>]

In any event, Ron, I'll quickly cede to your knowledge and experience in the matter. My only involvement has been as the slob who fills out the forms. Which was more involvement than I wanted, most of the time. <g>

Have a great weekend, amigo.
