"Mac users can now celebrate that the new version of the HotSync
manager (v2.6.1) is now out. It fixes the problems brought on by
USB updates in Mac OS 9.0.4, which caused hotsync timeouts with
time-intensive conduits. Download from the link above."

"Macintosh HotSync© v2.6.1 update

Apple Computer, Inc. has released the Mac OS System Update
v9.0.2 and v9.0.4 for use with Mac OS 9 operating system. Among
other changes, the USB system software has been updated. This
has affected the operation of the Palm HotSync© Manager
software.

As a result, HotSync operations may time out and return an error
message when synchronizing with conduits for certain
applications, including Meeting Maker and Outlook Express. Other
conduits with "long" synchronization times such as AvantGo may
also be affected.

If you are an existing Palm Desktop for Macintosh v2.5 user
and would like to correct these issues, download the HotSync
v2.6.1 update below:

hs261.bin (1.8 MB, MacBinary archive)
hs261.hqx (2.4 MB, BinHex archive)
hs261.sit (1.8 MB, StuffIt archive)

Installation instructions

Download one of the files above.
When the download is complete, your web browser should
decode the file and you will see hs261.sit appear on the
desktop (or in your default download folder).
Use Aladdin Stuffit Expander 5.5 or similar utility to expand
the archive (This may have been done automatically when
you decoded the file).
The "HotSync 2.6.1 Updater" icon should appear.
Double-click this file.
Follow the onscreen instructions to complete your
installation."
