GG-I appreciate getting more competitive info on Inmarsat. Most of the I-sat dealers I've followed (GMPCS, O'Gara, Stratos) also now offer G* and their I-sat rates are higher than those you've linked to.

But your rates, while less than the 3$/minute I claimed as typical a couple days ago are still substantially higher than G*'s

To get the best I-sat rate shown (disregarding the unfoldable high gain antenna option, whatever that may be), of 2.10/minute, one has to pay a monthly fee, with no bundled minutes, of 150$ per month and agree to pay it for 12 months, driving the effective cost per minute toward 2.50/minute.

I'm not sure what your point is:

1. If you're saying that G* is risky because Inmarsat, offering a product only somewhat worse and somewhat more expensive only makes 400M$ in revenue per year after years in the business, I guess I'd agree.

2. If you're seriously claiming that Inmarsat is a better value for those who want wireless phone service in regions served by G* but not by terrestrial wireless, than I strongly disagree.
