From the head of the legal department of a top 10 brokerage firm. He read it to me right from the rules. I had this question about a year ago when involved in a pink sheeter that was being manipulated. Clients held 500,000 shares in margin and cash accounts. I spoke to the head legal man to see what the real rules were. His info is what I posted. By the way, I urged via message boards to have all longs in this stock convert ot type 1 cash or restrict the lending on their positions. When this bber went AMEX, the shorts covered en masse moving the stock from $3 to the ten. Made a nice little score. Mama Bear, It is my opinion that many shorts and longs are trying to profit from stock manipulation using forums to instill those two great emotions of the marketplace: fear and greed. Parties on both sides diseminate false information preying on less than knowledgeable investors. I am just trying to make people cognizant of the rules and their rights under those rules. I cannot tell you how many times I have picked up the phone and called NASD, SEC or a major firm for clarification. I urge all investors to do the same. We certainly can no longer account on the disinformation that the WSJ prints. Regards Bob
