You may very well be right, Sarmad, and it will certainly be fascinating to watch all these situations unfold. I have a feeling that the timing is about as ripe as it has been in the past 10 years or so for LBO's (in terms of wildly disproportioned valuations, anyway - particularly companies with very positive cash flows who could essentially pay for themselves.) Also, the MM's who were all chasing the same high tech flyers in the 1st quarter of the year seem to abandoning them with the same reckless abandon. There is a ton of cash sitting on the sidelines, as we all know. Rising interest rates throw a wrinkle, but that won't last forever (and, interest rates are far lower now than they were during the LBO heyday.) Who knows - this stuff is fascinating and about to get much more interesting, I suspect. Just wish I were smart enough to know how to play it! I doubt CI has forgotten the rules of the game and strongly suspect we'll be hearing more from him - I don't think he changed his stripes but may have been biding his time. Who knows. I have noted that a lot of hedge fund money seems to be gaming the food stocks.

ps - I have to suspect that the Silver Lake crowd is less than thrilled to see Icahn enter the picture, but I am a very ignorant and struggling investor <g>! I would have struggled far more without the help of this board, however, and I'm most appreciative. Thank you all. trish
