BTW, My "Direct PC" Sat. connection is a very poor substitute for @home. During busy
hours it is worthless much of the time and I have to use dial up.

KW-I recently moved to a new home. After being completely frustrated trying to get TCI cable installed(I am 400 feet off the street and was told by a rep they couldn't run cable that far!!!) ATT finally did send out an installer but he did not have the RG11 cable for that long a run. The installer left a message to call ATT back for a return trip but I could never get thru tho them after. I finally succumbed to sattelite tv/pc Direct Duo. A 2" snowfall in April and no tv or internet. The dish was full of snow. This last week two heavy almost tornado like storms here in Michigan and no tv/internet. Ah me. Returned to the old home (still own it) to pick up mail. A brochure from TCI now ATT/TCI offered ATHome free install for PC. Called the number and was told to look up connection possibility on net. Keyed in old address. ATHome available.
Keyed in new address. Not available, one mile from old address, in an almost new sub area. Go figure. When sat download does work (when not too busy or wet,or?) it is a joy to behold but like you I too have reverted to direct telephone to the net on many occasions. I suppose If cable finally comes to me I will probably have it installed and get rid of the sat components to someone without cable. Ken
