H&Q singled out a few companies, including FFIV in this article...

NEW YORK, May 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Eighteen leading analysts and top
management from one hundred and ten sector firms examine the Technology sector
in this special 428-page CHASE H&Q 28th Annual Technology Conference Issue
from The Wall Street Transcript (212-952-7433) or
twst.com.

1) In a vital review of this evolving sector for investors and industry
professionals, this Networking Equipment Report features an in-depth
(3,200 words) analysis of the sector by leading expert Erik Suppiger, Senior
Analyst with Chase H & Q.

Suppiger discusses the market outlook for the networking industry. "We're
bullish on the market outlook right now. We haven't seen anything that
suggests that adoption of the Internet or of emerging technologies has slowed.
We don't anticipate that any of the major vendors in our coverage will fall
short of estimates for this quarter. It's not very often that we have such a
strong quarter."
Suppiger highlights Cisco Systems (Nasdaq: CSCO): "Cisco has done a very
good job of developing a marketing capability that enables them to overcome a
lot of their technical shortfalls by providing greater service and support,
and having mindshare leadership with end users. So Cisco has done a great job
in terms of building a very powerful marketing platform, and they use that
clout effectively."
According to Suppiger, Cabletron Systems (NYSE: CS) and Extreme Networks
(Nasdaq: EXTR) are promising: "We think that there's tremendous opportunity
for both of them in selling layer-3 switching, in the service provider space
as well as a number of emerging markets, such as metropolitan area services,
multi-tenant unit, and multi-dwelling unit sectors."
Suppiger asserts, "One of the areas where we think that investors have not
been as focused are some of the network management companies. I would note
that Network Associates (Nasdaq: NETA) has a good marketposition in network
monitoring."
Suppiger highlights 3Com (Nasdaq: COMS). "3Com is an interesting stock
right now. The company's valuation is largely based on the Palm
(Nasdaq: PALM) division that they spun out. It is priced at a fairly rich
revenue multiple. So it's difficult to recommend investors buy 3Com based on
the networking side of their business. If they're interested in the Palm
shares over the long run, 3Com probably represents a pretty attractive vehicle
for acquiring Palm shares."
"We like F5 (Nasdaq: FFIV). It represents a very attractive stock at this
point. The stock has given back some of its gains, and we believe that the
outlook for the content management market is very compelling. It's our
feeling that F5 is extremely well-positioned within the market," Suppiger
declares.

Suppiger notes, "Ramp Networks (Nasdaq: RAMP) and SonicWALL (Nasdaq: SNWL)
are also attractive stocks. They both play in the small/medium business
market. Ramp has security products which they OEM from SonicWALL. Ramp is
also developing an access product line with DSL technologies. It represents a
compelling growth opportunity going forward. SonicWALL, conversely, is
focused exclusively on the security appliance market. And that's a market
that is really on fire right now."
