Hi pass pass - economy of scale is obviously a modus operandi in the component arena. That said, not sure if VARL is fully understood, her VCO seems to have a good chunk of the market. SAWS is trying to break into this market only recently. So I cannot imagine the big boys are there yet. I do not think the names you ve mentioned, specifically TXN and MXIM, which I ve owned until recently, bother to get in to this market. AHAA is strong in the GA chip and RFMD is more in the basestation. Still, you are right. Yields is an absolute requirement. Also, while VARL has other LoBs, she has to branch out more --- or be acquired. If any of the players you mentioned wants to break into this biz, VARL is a likely candidate. best, Bosco
