This is such a bellwether issue. How the nation responds says a lot about whether our experiment in self-government can survive. Every tactic of the demagogue is being used. The appeal to emotions (dead babies bleeding), distortion of the facts (lumping gang violence in with accidental deaths), outright lies (the organizer is a simple mom from New Jersey). On top of that, 80% of the press (crucial element in the process) has abandoned its role as an impartial reporter and has blatantly sided and abetted the anti-gun side. Actually acting more as a P.R. firms than reporters. If the mob responds to this there is nothing it can't be manipulated into doing.
