CBQ, Inc. Subsidiary Tophernet Offers Broadband Wireless Internet in DFW Market

Business/Technology Editors

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 15, 2000--CBQ, Inc. (OTCBB:CBQI) The
E-Business Marketplace announced today that its wholly-owned
subsidiary, Tophernet, Inc., is offering broadband wireless Internet
service to its business customers in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. The
service is offered through Arlington-based Clearwire Technologies,
Inc.
Clearwire is a high-speed, fixed wireless Internet access
solution, employing a proprietary system to deliver a
point-to-multipoint local loop network that is not dependent on
telephone wires or cables. It is designed for business customers
demanding fast, flexible, high-quality, broadband communication
services that support IP-based applications. Typically installed in
3-5 days, this technology enables Tophernet to provide end-users
unprecedented levels of performance, reliability, functionality and
ease of installation and management.
"We're very excited about offering our customers a superior
wireless local access solution that gives them high-speed services
with quick provisioning and scalability. Clearwire's wireless
technology is an ideal complement to our existing services, and will
enhance our ability to compete," said Greg Allen, President,
Tophernet, Inc. "The Clearwire solution provides the performance,
reliability and cost-effectiveness our customers demand."
Service installation to business locations is remarkably fast and
easy. The Clearwire access server is connected directly to a
customer's Local Area Network (LAN) through a standard 10Base-T
Ethernet connection, the antenna is typically mounted in a window of
the building, and the service is up and running. No additional
equipment or routers are required, and roof access is rarely
necessary. In addition, the Clearwire system is TCP/IP compatible and
supports SNMP network management.
"We're extremely pleased that Tophernet has chosen Clearwire as
its wireless solution," said Scott Lingren, Vice President of Sales
for Clearwire Technologies, Inc. "By offering Clearwire services,
Tophernet will have a competitive advantage in the ability to provide
high bandwidth services with unrivaled reach and the shortest
provisioning times available."
Clearwire wireless local access is available immediately in Dallas
from Tophernet, Inc. The company offers a range of service classes at
speeds from 128K to 640K, with prices beginning at $120 per month,
including Internet services. Call 972/733-0704 for information.
