Even Congress, though we know they do not interpret law, seems at home with the "individual" right to bear arms.

2ndlawlib.org Congress interprets the Second Amendment

Many law professors find this amendment crucial. www.law.ucla.edu/faculty/volokh/2amteach.htm

I choose not to bad-mouth lawyers (there are too many of them in my family) as I feel the real problem is too many laws, and bad laws at that. Check out Diane Feinstein's new attack on the first amendment in the Methamphetamine Anti-Proliferation Act. This bill also contains a provision that allows the police to search your house (with a warrant) when you're not home and never notify you. This is to say the least playing "fast and loose" with the Constitution. Coupled with the same attitude of the Executive and Executive Orders and Proclamations (quoting Paul Begala, a Clinton adviser "Stroke of the pen. Law of the land. Kind of cool") the pendulum has swung wildly to the totalitarian left.
