Since all sex eminates from the mind, the state of horniness --arousal -- occurs in reaction to the stimulii radiated from the potential sexual mate and perculates through the senses to the brain where value judgments decide at a subliminal level if the perceivier will become arouse by what he/she perceives.

This is why some men get aroused by very athletic women, others fat women, others whores, etc.
