mang, a lot (maybe just some?) of PALM's near-term success is going to hinge on the company's ability to educate people to the fact that it is transitioning from a hardware manufacturer to a software and service provider. i say near-term because eventually, the fact that PALM is deriving revenue from licensing is going to be obvious. but right now, i get the impression that people think primarily of pda's when they hear PALM, and not operating system. once an individual is aware of that fact, then press releases like the sony announcement (and so many others) will read like good news, as opposed to competition and confusion. does that make sense? :) mark
