"Is QLGC dead or what ?" dav, I can assure you it is not. As an Ancor shareholder, I am very excited about QLGC acquiring Ancor. This deal is getting more favorable press lately, and I see it as revitalizing the fibre channel market. We have posted numerous opinions on the Ancor thread, including the spin in the local press going in to tomorrow's Ancor shareholders' meeting: Message 13716829 And some interesting financial analysis by a Yahoo Ancor poster (along with subsequent posts #35939 and 35937): messages.yahoo.com With regard to pure QLogic news, I found this interesting: globalfilesystem.org This is the U of Mn LCSE site. It notes that QLogic makes 2 of the three Linux FC HBAs that this GFS oriented group is aware of. I don't know what the current demand is for FC HBAs that support Linux. This research group has detailed performance testing of many FC components. George D.
