Ever looked into the number of workers who die at 7-11's (& other all night places) each year here in our "best economy of all times"?

Please tell me that you're kidding Richard.... Please!!!

I don't think I've ever heard of ONE employee at a convenience store who died of work-related activities (like stocking shelves, running the cash register, selling lotto tickets... etc)

If you wish to include deaths caused by criminal behavior beyond the businesses control (that's a reflection of this countries poor law enforement/criminal justice system), then we'll have to include the same sort of data in deaths suffered by gold miners from fights, muggings, car accidents, and AIDS...

Richard... I don't hate you and oftentimes we agree on certain issues. But for you to make such a comparison between work related deaths in the S. African gold industry and an American convenience store goes beyond the pale of logic.

Why haven't you made comparisons between US gold mining operations and S. African gold mines. That is far more appropriate comparison. It will clearly show that open pit and placer mining operations are far safer ways of obtaining whatever gold the economy may require.

Putting people 3 kilometers beneath the friggin' ground in such a dangerous situation is merely a deliberate trade-off between profitability and human sacrifice in its pursuit.

Regards,

Ron
