It is my understanding that Christine Charette is working on a big QLT report where she basically will make the case for QLT from the ground up. Updated extimates for sales and earnings will be included and I would be surprised if she does not jack them up significantly based on what we are hearing from the various retinologists on this board and also based on the conference call she had at the ARVO meetings. As she markets this report, perhaps the stock can find a little institutional buying support as investors start to look for stories that can make them money even in the midst of a bear market. I am hopeful that she will include alot of comparitive valuation work as I would think that would highlight that there are two ways to win with this stock: rapid, above expectation earnings growth and multiple expansion towards peer group levels. Hopefully, she will also delve into what else might be on the horizon for the company in terms of the potential for new products and the possible financial impact from acquisitions. With the Fed rate hike out of the way tomorrow, perhaps buying interest in stocks in general will pick up again. I suspect the report will be out over the next two weeks. I hope that other brokers will also begin to pick up coverage of the stock.
