Well, irrespective of who is correct in the discussion, you basically screwed up the blind story and drew a completely backassward analogy. The Admiral was Lord Horatio Nelson and the battle was Copenhagen. The Commanding Admiral, Parker, signaled to withdraw from the battle. Nelson, correctly believing that such action would result in a disaster, held his telescope to his blind eye saying he didn't see any flag signal to withdraw and then proceeded to attack the Danes. The rest is history, a tremendous victory by Nelson. One of the finest, and arguably THE finest, Admirals the world has ever seen.
