Maybe you can take advantage of your stay in Buenos Aires to develop a relationship with a wine shop that will ship out of the country. Or perhaps you can get the good stuff somewhere on the internet. Your point about sulfites and tannin is interesting. I haven't touched red wine in years and years for the same reason. I'd be interested in knowing if you are able to confirm your theory.
