and of course there's the 3/2 wsj quote that i like to drag out every time this subject comes up... "Benhamou dismissed speculation that 3Com would put itself up for sale following the Palm spinoff, which is expected to be completed within about six months. He said the company isn't for sale, and he noted that the tax-free nature of the Palm spinoff is contingent upon 3Com's capital structure remaining the same for two years. Any buyer of 3Com within the next two years would be liable for billions of dollars in taxes." #reply-13030003
