i'm begging for a useable amount of texture memory because stuff in texture memory can be done in hardware. this is why 64 megs of texture memory in the Onyx. without at least 16 megs of texture memory, an operation involving two frames of film rez images require a lot of CPU attention. my point is that a few hundred dollars of ram (in the right place) would probably speed up compositing work tenfold.
this is only my perception, please correct me if you think otherwise.
