Personally, I like your choice of words here. Liberty, I think, is a more applicable term than is democracy when it comes to SI web site activities.

I think to a certain extent it is true that we do have to tolerate others' liberty in order to enjoy our own. However, it seems to me that there must be limits to complete and unrestrained liberty.

Are you suggesting unlimited liberty? If so then the poster that prompted this thread was simply exercising his liberty to do as he pleased.

If liberty is not unlimited, then where are the limits? It's the limits that we are dealing with on this thread. For if there are no limits to one's liberty to post, then there is no need for this thread. Do you see it differently?
