I did drop by, but I'm not really sure I should stay. I haven't really followed the issue lately (one advantage of living outside the US is that the media don't force me to follow such issues), and it sort of amazes me that people are still interested.

It seems somehow symptomatic of the political state of the nation that much more attention seems to be paid to emotional and symbolic issues than to the real substance of policy.

I've even stopped following the campaign; I can't look at, listen to, or read about either candidate without reeling in disgust, and one needs as little of that as possible.
