just short covering?

Not a factor to be underestimated in the short-term. Plus details of QCOM vendor financing deal actually finalizing were in the 10-Q filed today. Q gets the equivalent of 14MM warrants to buy @ around $10.75. (Read the 10-Q for actual details). My take is that when/if operationally things are looking substantially better for G*, part of the financing
gap will be met by Q exercising the warrants - $140MM or thereabouts into G* coffers. Dilution for shareholders not a big issue at these levels - survival is.

LOR has some older ITM warrants from guarantees too. So Bernie's scenario of screw the credit markets, the partners will step in gained some credibility. Scares the shorts.

Lots of the less sophisticated shorts still in here were/are hoping for a quick Iridium-like slide to Chapter 11. Ain't gonna happen quick. This was low volume, so can't say a whole lot of buying. But suspect that most of the GSTRF faithful aren't sellers at these prices. It does appear that shares available on the borrow are getting tighter. Maurice guesses maybe 2MM shares will participate in the switcheroo out of the borrow pool. It could be more because I think he's sampling only from SI folks.

Just my take.
