BIOSPACE.COM ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF JOHN WALKER AS CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD

SAN FRANCISCO, CA - May 16, 2000 - BioSpace.com, the global hubsite for the life sciences industry, today announced the appointment of John Walker as Chairman of the Board. He succeeds Jennifer King, founder of the company, who remains on the board. Mr. Walker began his career at American Hospital Supply Corporation, where he ultimately served as president of The Hospital Company, a $1.5 billion distributor of medical, surgical and other hospital supplies. Subsequently he was Chairman and CEO of Vitaphore Corporation, a biomaterials company acquired by Union Carbide Chemical and Plastics.

Mr. Walker received his B.A. from the State University of New York, at Buffalo. He has conducted graduate business studies at Columbia School of Marketing, Wharton School of Finance, and Northwestern University Institute of Management.
