I'll say what I said before, In a bullish market, when the indicators were against you and you take no action on long position, most likely you did not have your head handed to you because the downside risk was short and limited due to the overall market was bullish and the "pain" was short lived. Right now all the major indices are below the BRL (DJIA, NASD, S&P, QQQ, RUT, etc), my thinking say's when the indicators are in x's, the upside will be limited because of the overall bearishness. The major moves will be downward with the indicators turning to o's. But hey that's only my opinion, I could be all washed up.
