Linux on S/390 wired.com "The machine, which features up to a dozen 637-MHz processors that between them can execute a mind-boggling 1,614 million instructions per second, in tests ran up to 41,400 separate copies of Linux simultaneously. However, because of performance considerations, customers would typically run only 200 or 300 separate virtual servers, IBM said. For example, IBM said it typically costs a company more than $10,000 for every minute its servers are down.
