When you are talking Eskimos you are talking an isolated group of individuals about as close to being monolithic in their thinking as a "group" can get. They had to be that way for survival and their experience has very little in common with our experience. We live in a culture where everyone has a different opinion, and almost no one agrees on anything, and that is actually celebrated (which I think is insane for a society, but that is another argument.) So when you teach your kids about sexuality you also have to think, what are the other parents teaching their kids, and not just what are they saying, but what example are they setting? There is still a "scoring" ethos that runs through the male side of this equation and for that reason I don't want my girls to think sex is the light and breezy, fun time had by all, occasion some people seem to think it is. There are still judgments made about girls who are "easy" that are not made about boys who merely "play the field". Is there a male equivalent for "slut," for example?
