You may want to wait until fall when DDR really does hit the desktop. Until then, I suspect that in the summer, most of the initial DDR production will be taken up by servers and graphics controllers. By that time, RDRAM prices will have dropped even more, not low enough to be considered mainstream, but enough to continue the trend. And by the time DDR arrives onto the desktop, Willamette will start ramping up, and on RDRAM only.
Trust me, this drama is going to continue on well into 2001. In other words, I doubt anyone will have the chance to say "I told you so" with any decisiveness this summer.
