I think you're looking for something that's not there. The smoke is being manufactured by those that are concerned about valuations. I think CSCO does less financing due to the nature of the companies they sell to. Since they are predominantly (still) enterprise CSCO most likely expects these businesses to get their own financing. It's RBOC's and larger ISP's that expect the vendor to carry the paper. CSCO is in front of less of these deals (as a percentage) than their competitors.

Regarding the "glut of equipment". The half life of this equipment isn't all that great. I wouldn't expect this to be a significant impact. As for China.. again, they have purchased insignificant amounts relative to the potential growth.
