btw it's a wonderful story she is a wonderful woman, I feel privileged to know her I felt terrible giving my children vaccinations- they would NOT have chosen to have them. I make them get flu shots every year- am I correct in doing that? I don't know you make the best decision you can based on the knowledge you have. can't do more than that. is it perfect? no. nothing is. btw, I know someone in infectious disease and she swears by flu shots. apparently in time, you build up immunities to many strains, although they mutate, you have some basic defenses in your body also, she thinks not vaccinating for small pox will in time prove be a mistake. she is rather doubtful it will be 'wiped' out and when it reappears there will be hell to pay for the unvaccinated on another infectious disease note, she has what I call the jungle theory. I won't explain this well [I much prefer to talk than write]. it is a very interesting theory. she believes that there are other deadly virus's in thinly inhabited isolated parts of the world. like HIV and the Ebola strains. she believes as rain forests are destroyed, native populations forced into the main stream, animals driven into the populace by destruction of habitat, these previously 'local' or unknown virus's will be unleashed and carried by international travel to the general population. people who have never been exposed to these strains will have severe reactions. not like the movie Breakout, but that there are deadly virus's that in time will be uncovered. on the bright side, she also believes there are many amazing and unknown plants to be discovered that will offer cures to known diseases. I thought it was an interesting theory. probably held by more then my friend.
