Sarmad <perhaps that is why it has not reared its ugly head> LOL -- unfortunately, their loss is not our gain. We incur approximately $1.2 billion dollars per day on our current account deficit. That means, every single day, we must convince foreigners to commit an additional $1.2 billion dollars to our financial markets or have the dollar drop. As our dollar has not dropped, and in fact has been strengthening in recent days, it is safe to conclude that foreigners are selling our stocks and buying our bonds. The debt to foreigners in bonds will not go away -- remember, foreigners in general and Asians in particular like to save money. We will owe them the money long after all the new economy stocks have had the stuffing kicked out of them.
