Corel's future pondered as merger with Inprise-Borland called off
...Stewart and Restivo suggested the company has likely received financing offers from smaller lending institutions, but isn't an imminent takeover candidate.

"Their stock price would have to fall much lower - I think acquisitors are going to look for more of a bargain basement price," Restivo said.

In reference to Corel's aging business software, Stewart added: "Why would you want a shrinking office productivity suite?" .....
