There was some chatter about handset size at the meeting. I believe BLS said that, eventually, handsets might be 2" smaller; however, I got the feeling that would be a couple generations (maybe 2-3 years) away. There is definite hesitation in discussing NextGen handsets because they don't want to cannibalize the ones in the pipeline. Qualcomm has also been rather "tight-lipped" about it from my inquiries (Gee, there's something new!).
