<<The current medical economy is a house of cards held up only by the moral scruples of physicians.>>
well, i hate to say this doc, but that's a loose house of cards. how many of those doctors with scruples has stood up to the system that they believe is so poorly run? how many of those doctors have provided "less than adequate" services because they were squeezed by the HMO? how many of those doctors have worried more about a $500k salary than treating patients in need? yes, A LOT of them. possibly, even the majority. but before you throw stones at others, maybe you should look at the $2 million dollar glass homes where many physicians reside....
btw, my father-in-law is a physician and i greatly respect what he has done for his patients and his community. and i can say i also have business dealings with many doctors of which the above doesn't apply. but i've seen the other side of the coin, as well.... it's not just a one-sided story. oh, and i do understand the amount of money doctors are forced to pay in insurance due to our litigious society, as well as all of the positive things they do for our community. if you are one of the doctors who is helping "hold up the house of cards," i applaud you.
