(OT)Clang: You don't have to be a Red Sox fan to appreciate Pedro Martinez...just a baseball fan. The last time I saw such a dominating pitcher was a while back...Ron Guidry did it for a couple of years with the Yankees...Bob Gibson of course with St. Louis, Dick Radatz a reliever with the Sox back in the 60's, Don Drysdale (was it 59 consecutive innings without allowing a run?). I enjoy high-scoring games with a lot of "action"...but there's nothing like a great pitcher's duel where every pitch is important, defensive plays sparkle and the game typically ends 1-0 in less than 2 1/4 hours. The movie with Kevin Kostner was "Bull Durham" where he had to teach the pitcher with the million-dollar arm not to think...just throw. "Field of Dreams" was another terrific Kostner baseball movie. Slumps are part of baseball and of trading. Hang in...it'll pass. (Lee)
