Dear Y2Kate:
Your post has touched me deeply. I am confident that your cries to the Lord Jesus Christ have not gone unheard. Your confusion and apparently great sense of loss at your recent financial downturn is most understandably distressing to you. In fact, I know of very little else that causes more distress in a person's life than financial troubles, and that includes the lives of Christians. Jesus spoke often about financial matters. I believe the reason he did was because he understands the pain that can come from financial woes.
I do not mean to sound simplistic, but maybe you can use this situation to consider and evaluate your priorities. I am not suggesting that your priorities are not in order, only that it is often when we are at our lowest point that God is at his strongest in our lives. God is there for you right now, right this minute and he hears you and he is crying with you because he feels and fully and completely understands the pain you are suffering now.
Now I would like to pray for you, Y2Kate:
Father, you know and understand the pain that is in the life of this, your child, whom we know as Y2Kate. I pray that you would comfort her and make your presence known in her life in a real and powerful way. I pray that you would use this situation to make her testimony to others a powerful testimony of how God's love can carry a person through even the toughest of times. I pray that you would restore her peace and joy of life and her self-confidence. I pray that even now as I pray that the Holy Spirit would make himself known to her and sooth her distress. Thank, you, Father, for hearing my prayer which I pray in the name of the your most holy son, Jesus Christ. Amen
In Christ, Tom |
