But at the same time, these same techs are now heavily weighting the DOW and of course the nasdaq looks ugly

So now, the huge influence is confined to "two stocks" (correct me if wrong) Intel and MSFT. Intels influence over the next 6 months will likely be "positive" considering that the market has already forgiven them for their 300MM motherboard failure. Certainly MSFT has already corrected, yet the DOW never plunged ??Hmmmm this is the problem with concentrating on one sector when discussing future BEAR or BULL markets.

Where MSFT failed the DOW other sectors moved up to compensate for it. Reallocation of money from sector to sector has been the mainstay of markets since there inception. Cyclicals are in fact the "rule" not the exception. So to "assume" that Tecks won't go thru a cyclical is contrarian thinking, would you not agree?
