You should have heard that "economist" representing the Gore (statist) position. They're very "worried" that there will be some "winners and some losers" if people have control over their own money. Totally playing the class envy card. The fact is that the minorities and the poor have MUCH more to gain on a relative basis if they are able to invest a portion of their SS in a very safe, conservative investment. As Ish said, imagine if they just put the money into T-Bonds, that return is roughly FOUR TIMES the historical rate for SS "returns" and like I stated earlier, minorities are getting a negative return. The best hope for the poor and minorities to build some wealth is to allow them to invest THEIR money.
