I didn't know that, really. So I checked the thesaurus and other words such as "theft", robbery", "ravage, pillage" etc.. came up, and I didn't think you usually ask for an invite if you have those intentions. You're invited in when the opposite party feels 'comfortable, safe, or is persuaded by your friendly charm, sweet speech, good intentions, etc..

I know in the real world the best and smart "plunderers" are those who disguise their intentions and get a gold-plated, opened-armed invite from the host... little knowing they are soon going to be ravaged/robbed/plundered by their guest.
