Ben, A software patch to fix their design errors is the best and cheapest way for a company that could not design processors properly. Good for them! There are always lots of stupid consumers will choose Pentium systems at premium prices. They could license K6 from AMD or M2 from Cyrix and terminate PPro and Pentium II for good.
