BTW I think NT is likely to show further EPS acceleration in 2Q but deceleration thereafter. LU is likely to accelerate all year. Mr. Fun, you must be optomistic about LUs chances of taking market share from NT in OC-192. I just read an article in lightreading which says OC-192 will grow 250% in 2000 and NT has 95% market share in OC-192 according to Dell'Oro. Your opinion about LU taking market share must be based on the assumption that LUs OC-192 will be as good as NT's OC-192. Of course, we don't know that. The same article in lightreading pointed out that gigabit ethernet switches and 10 gigabit ethernet switches are a cheap alternative to SONET/SDH ADMs for the enterprise connection to the WAN. Yesterday, Bell Nexxia announced they had used Nortel's equipment to deploy the first optical ethernet network. Do you know where Cisco or Lucent are in developing optical ethernet networks. Apparently, by 2002, we will have a standard for 10 gigabit ethernet and such switchesd will begin to replace SONET/SDH ADMs.
